Games Allowance & Supplemental Gift

 We are excited to share two funding opportunities available to fully sanctioned Local Senior Games programs: the 2026 Supplemental Gift and the 2027 Games Allowance.

2026 Supplemental Gift

North Carolina Senior Games is providing a one-time Supplemental Gift of up to $300 to eligible Local Senior Games programs. All supplemental funds must be used by December 31, 2026.

Local Coordinators may choose one of the following options:

  • Receive a check (up to $300) to purchase approved items.

  • Request that NCSG purchase approved items or pay approved expenses directly on behalf of the Local Senior Games program. For example, NCSG may pay the hotel directly for up to $300 toward Local Coordinators Association (LCA) Conference hotel accommodations. Any costs exceeding $300 are the responsibility of the Local Coordinator.

  • Decline the Supplemental Gift.

Flexible Use of Funds: The Supplemental Gift may be used for one or multiple eligible expenses, provided the total request does not exceed $300.

 

2027 Games Allowance

The annual Games Allowance will provide up to $600 in 2027 to eligible Local Senior Games programs for approved expenses. An After-Action Report, along with all supporting documentation, must be submitted as part of the Local Games Evaluation, which is due 30 days after the completion of your Local Senior Games.

What's New for 2027

  • No Sanctioning Fee: Local Senior Games programs will no longer be required to pay a sanctioning fee.

  • No Training Fees: Registration fees for the SilverArts Workshop and Sports Management Clinic have been eliminated.

  • Flexible Funding Options: Local Senior Games programs may choose to:

    • Receive a reimbursement or check (up to $600) to purchase approved items; or

    • Request that NCSG purchase approved items or pay approved expenses directly to the vendor on behalf of the Local Senior Games program.

  • Flexible Use of Funds: The Games Allowance may be used for one or multiple eligible expenses, provided the total request does not exceed $600.

 

Important Deadlines

  • Supplemental Gift Form: Submit your completed form to NCSG by September 1, 2026.

  • Games Allowance Form: Submit your completed form to NCSG by December 1, 2026.
